Sounds like good news

Here’s a brief video from the Raleigh News & Observer, via YouTube, featuring Jon Scheyer talking about Kyle Filipowski’s ankle injury in the Bucknell game.

Filipowski came back in the game after the injury, and that was reassuring, but as Scheyer correctly points out, you won’t know about things like swelling or residual issues until the next day.

But he says things look pretty good and he’s fairly optimistic about Filipowski’s status.

Good, because with Christian Reeves also hurt - he wore a boot during the Bucknell game - Duke’s front court depth would take a major hit.

As admirable as Ryan Young has been, he can't come close to doing what Filipowski does. He can complement it, he can be a great supporting role player, he can magnify what Filipowski does, but he can’t do it himself.

And while freshman Sean Stewart shows a ton of potential, well...he’s still a freshman.

So it’s good to know that Filipowski’s situation is probably short-term.
