A Collectible For Duke Fans

This looks pretty nice.

This is nothing major and it is kind of expensive, but for Duke fans, it’s going to be tempting: Slam has a collector’s magazine out Called Duke: Legends.

The cover is pretty impressive. It features Johnny Dawkins, Kyrie Irving, Christian Laettner, Jon Scheyer, Zion Williamson, Jason Williams, Shane Battier, Jayson Tatum, Paolo Banchero, Bobby Hurley, Carlos Boozer, Grant Hill, JJ Redick and, of course Mike Krzyzewski, who recruited all of those players to Durham.

The cover itself is pretty stunning. You almost have to pinch yourself that not only did all those guy come to Durham, they all turned out to be high character winners. And of those pictured who are retired, seven are still involved in the sport. Three are coaching, three are involved on the media side and one, Grant Hill, is involved with media, the ownership group of the Atlanta Hawks and, just to make sure his plate is full, is also now running USA Basketball.

This doesn’t get into the next level of guys like David Henderson, Tony Lang, Mike Dunleavy, Tommy Amaker and Jay Bilas who has really become ESPN’s face of college basketball, to name just a few.

It’s a 300 page magazine and it says it covers all 42 years of the Coach K era plus Jon Scheyer’s first team as well. It looks like fun.

At $30.00 it is a bit steep, but we’re pretty sure some of you may like it.

Incidentally, just to be clear, we’re not being paid to say this. It just looks cool so we thought we’d pass it on.
