How good of a year is Duke running back Mataeo Durant having? This good: he’s being talked up as a possible ACC Player of the Year.

He’s already scored eight touchdowns and at that pace, Luke DeCock of the News & Observer says, he could end up with 33 by the end of the season.

That probably won't happen - teams will start to focus intensely on him.

Of course that will open up possibilities for other guys so it’s not the worst thing team-wise.

DeCock goes on to compare him to Eric Green, who was the ACC Basketball Player of the Year in 2005 despite Virginia Tech being awful.

It remains to be seen just how awful Duke is or isn’t but Durant is making an argument for an NFL career should he choose that.
