Duke got a commitment from Caleb Foster (2023) Thursday but on Wednesday Kentucky got one from Chris Livingston (2022).
Not that it matters, but the consensus, right now anyway, is that Kentucky, with Livingston joining Shaedon Sharpe and Skyy Clark, has the top rated class.
Duke is still after Mark Mitchell and Duke and Kentucky are both after big man Dereck Lively Kentucky is also after center Adem Bona and who knows who else might end up at either of the juggernauts.
But Lively is a big deal, no pun intended, and most people think he’s leaning to Kentucky.
Kentucky.com isn’t quite as sure and says that “Duke should also be considered the co-favorite — along with Kentucky — for Lively.“
Time will tell, but that’s cool to hear since we’re sure they talk to the Kentucky staff and Kentucky has a Plan B. So Lively is still possible for Duke.
Some people are getting carried away and already calling Kentucky’s class the best ever. That’s ridiculous.
That would be UCLA’s class of ‘69 featuring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. That team won lost two games in three years (freshmen weren't eligible) and won three national championships.
