When Grayson Allen was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, like most Duke fans and, we’re sure, more Wisconsin fans, our thoughts drifted back to his spectacular debut on the national stage in the 2015 national championship.
For a lot of people, he came out of nowhere. Duke fans were aware of him of course; we’d seen glimpses. But most of us didn’t know he was ready to do something legendary.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said that his diving hustle play against Wisconsin was the most important play in Duke basketball history.
Think about that. Think about the great plays we’ve seen. That’s the one he says is most important.
Obviously Wisconsin fans aren't going to be as fond of it, nor as fond of him, now that he’s in Milwaukee.
Our advice: put it aside and focus on how hard he plays. That passion led Duke to a nation championship. That same passion will push him teammates to keep playing hard.
Put 2015 aside and look at him. That guy can really help the Bucks stay great.
