We knew that former Blue Devil Justise Winslow had had some injury issues but our focus is primarily on the current members of the Brotherhood and sometimes we miss stuff.

This article says that Winslow actually had hip replacement surgery. That’s a huge thing to overcome. In fact, we’re not sure we’ve ever heard of anyone having hip replacement surgery and resuming a career in professional sports.

First you would have to retrain yourself to do basic functions, things like standing and walking, before you could resume any athletic activities, much less at a highly elite level. It has to be hard as hell.

Most of us can’t begin to comprehend how brutally competitive the NBA is. The most average guy we can think of in the last few decades is probably Steve Kerr and he would be light years beyond the average college player and smarter than 99 percent of them too.

To come back from hip replacement surgery and be able to resume competing at that level would be one of the great accomplishments in recent NBA history.
