After Grayson Allen was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, local fans (there not here) made it clear that they hadn’t forgotten 2015 when Allen came off of Duke’s bench to crush Wisconsin’s dream of a second national championship 74 years after their first and only one.
Cheeseheads are passionate about sports. It’s the home state for the Green Bay Packers after all, but our all-time favorite story about fans in that state came after Marquette beat UNC for the 1977 national championship (side note: thank you, Al McGuire).
Some kid threw his TV out the window, smashing it. He said he would never see anything that beautiful again so he didn’t need it anymore.
How can you not love that?
This article predicts that Bucks fans will come to love Allen for one simple reason: he busts his ass on defense.
They may resent him now for 2015 but if he helps the Bucks put together back-to-back titles, all will be forgiven.
We might even see a TV tossed again.
