Duke coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer has made it pretty clear he’s after high-end talent. So far he’s got a commitment from 6-11 Kyle Filipowski and is hot after highly regarded targets 6-6 Dariq Whitehead (who is due to announce Sunday) and 6-8 Kansan Mark Mitchell.

Now he’s offered an exciting point guard in the 2023 class: 6-4 Caleb Foster out of Harrisburg, which is just this side of Charlotte.

There’s a long way to go in his recruitment of course, but for his part, Foster seems pretty receptive. Here’s what he tweeted: “Beyond blessed to receive an offer from Duke University!!!!”

Four exclamation points doesn't suggest much but it does suggest giddiness which is nice to see.

What’s more interesting is the imagery.

A lot of times in these tweets you’ll see the player and Foster is in here. But he also put in images of Kyrie Irving and JJ Redick, along with a Duke image.

Incidentally, one of the people who responded to this tweet: the recently committed Filipowski.
