Having a great shooter is really critical for championship-level teams

It’s amazing, really, that JJ Redick is not only still in the NBA, but is a free agent getting a number of offers at 37.

That’s what being a great shooter (not to mention a hard worker) can do: he can push a good team from making the playoffs to winning a championship.

As of now, it looks like the Nets, the Lakers, the Knicks and the 76ers are all going to make a run at him.

If Redick signs with Philadelphia of course, it would be his second stint in the City of Brotherly Love.

It’s hard to see him playing more than a couple of more years though, whatever he decides, and his family lives in Brooklyn, so assuming he wants to stay there (and lots of people have left or are leaving New York recently for various reasons including the pandemic), the Nets might have the inside track for the former Duke Blue Devil.
