Rising big man Kyle Filipowski is getting a lot of attention from recruiters now, including Duke among others. So what’s he thinking about it all? Well here’s what he told 24/7 Sports about several of the schools in pursuit. Here’s what he said about his impressions of Duke:

“It’s something special to get that offer because they don’t just go around offering anybody they see. They do a background check and evaluate you very hard so getting that offer meant something. I have a great relationship with coach Scheyer. He wants to build the team around me so everything they have to offer them....The visit was awesome too. I got to play with the guys there as well, see everything just like my other visits, so it was a good time. Playing with them was good as well, it felt natural, no nerves, no hesitancy, so it was a lot of fun.”

Syracuse was onto him pretty early and he’s still listing them but for whatever reason, there are no comments here about the Orange.

Other schools discussed: Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State.

Filipowski is from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and obviously Boston College is aware of him and interested. It may be a while before they can convince a major recruit to come though. We’ll see how the latest rebuild goes.
