A Possible Zion Williamson Trade Scenario

Lots of things are possible, but we’re not there just yet

Here’s an article that follows up on the rumors about Zion Williamson (and possibly his family) being unhappy in New Orleans and a possible trade scenario.

Before anyone gets too carried away with this stuff, it’s worth mentioning that Zion bought a very nice house for his parents in the Crescent City’s Garden District. He can afford to do it of course and you can always sell it (or just keep it for that matter), but a house is putting down roots.

Just a thought.

Actually, we say he bought it but we don’t know. They may have bought it on their own.

Anyway, back to the Hotlanta story.

The proposed trade would be to the Hawks. New York has been mentioned too, of course, and either way he could possibly reunite with a Duke teammate, either RJ Barrett with the Knicks or Cam Reddish with the Hawks.

Here’s something that never seems to get mentioned though and maybe it should: what about the Hornets?

Trade details aside, it could pair Williamson with LaMelo Ball, which would be fun, and would also bring him back to where he knows best as his hometown of Spartanburg, SC, is just an hour away.

That can’t match the bright lights of NYC of course, or the ambience of Atlanta, but consider this: Michael Jordan, via Nike, has the greatest leverage of any owner ever. Williamson is already part of the Jordan Brand, and while it might not be legal to use that relationship as part of contract talk under NBA rules, how could they stop it?
