Poll: Should Duke Change Cameron Indoor Stadium To Honor Coach K?

We’ll vote yes, but you probably knew that

Duke Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski Announces Retirement
DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA - JUNE 03: Head coach Mike Krzyzewski of the Duke Blue Devils speaks during a press conference announcing his retirement at Cameron Indoor Stadium on June 03, 2021 in Durham, North Carolina. Krzyzewski, the winningest coach in Division I men’s basketball history who led the Blue Devils to five national titles, announced he plans to retire after the 2021-2022 season.

Mike Krzyzewski’s achievements at Duke are mind-boggling. The five national championships, the 12 Final Fours, 15 ACC Tournament championships, and a dozen ACC regular season titles. Then there’s the stint with the US National Team that saw the Americans win three gold medals and that after some pretty poor performances in the previous few games.

There’s been a lot of discussion about how to honor Coach K for all he’s done for Duke, and it’s not just on the floor either. He’s had an incalculable effect on the entire university.

Chris Duhon thinks he deserves a statue and he surely does. But our feeling is that his time here has been so monumental and transformative that it calls for something more than just a statue, as great as that would (will) be.

So our idea, as you have probably seen over the years and more often in recent days, is to rename Cameron and call it Cameron-Krzyzewski Indoor Stadium.

What do you guys think? Is that the sort of honor that’s appropriate?

Vote whatever you think below. The folks at Duke will see it. We obviously won't have any more part in this than to raise it, but we can at least do that.
