Duke Recruiting: Dariq Whitehead Offered

He’d fit right in to Duke’s scheme too.

One of Duke’s targets this cycle is Dariq Whitehead, a 6-6 5-star wing from Newark who currently plays for Montverde.

You may remember that RJ Barrett also played there.

Whitehead tweeted Tuesday that he had been offered and had previously allowed that he had grown up a Duke fan.

This is an interesting offer in general but specifically because, if we’re not mistaken, it’s the first offer that Jon Scheyer has made. No doubt Coach K was heavily involved, but if he comes to Duke, Whitehead will play for Scheyer.

Whitehead’s official visit is this coming weekend and that would be a nice time to finalize a commitment.

In another good sign, in-state target De’Ante Green says he’d like to hear from Duke.
