Monday was a busy day for Duke basketball as the Blue Devils offered 6-7 Anthony Black, 2022, 6-8 Mark Mitchell out of Kansas, also 2022 and 6-8 Gregory Jackson out of South Carolina.

Mitchell is seen as a 5-Star recruit and the Blue Devils will get plenty of competition for him.

Black is from Coppell, Texas, a state Duke has done well in in recent years. Coppell is a suburb of Dallas.

Duke historically has not recruited a lot or at least not well in South Carolina. We had to stop and think for a minute before we remembered the obvious Blue Devil from the Palmetto State: Zion Williamson.

Duke was close on Tennessee’s Josiah Jordan-James before he picked the Vols. There might be another but we can’t think of him right now.

So maybe it’s time to start a new tradition: Duke offered Columbia’s Gregory “GG” Jackson on Monday and he seemed appreciative when he mentioned it on Twitter.

Jackson is a 6-8, 210 lb. forward who is mobile and athletic. And obviously he’s a teenage 210. In a few year that will be more like 235-240.

Right now it’s still early but he was interested enough to take an unofficial and Duke interested enough to offer.

Bonus fun: Duke could possibly have GG and two JJ’s as JJ Starling and JJ Taylor have both also been offered.

Also, we didn't see this but Duke has also offered 5-star 6-7 Mackenzie Mgbacko out of Gladstone, New Jersey and of course Dariq Whitehead, also a 5-star prospect from Florida’s Montverde.
