Duke Recruiting: Charles Bediako Chooses Alabama

Tough luck for Duke but an opportunity for Bediako to get lots of minutes

Duke target Charles Bediako made his choice Tuesday and it wasn’t Duke: the young Canadian big man will enroll at Alabama and play for Nate Oats.

It’s a great get for Alabama as Bediako should shore up the inside which in turn makes it harder to defend Oats’s high octane offense

For Duke, it’s too bad but not a disaster. Paolo Banchero should be able to offer some backup minutes at center and obviously recruiting for next fall isn’t over yet. And of course there’s the suddenly lush transfer market, and the Blue Devils could certainly except to find a competent center or power forward who wouldn’t mind playing for a potential national championship team.
