Former Duke forward Jaemyn Brakefield has made his decision about his next school and it’ll be Ole Miss.

His coach will be Kermit Davis, who is pretty solid. He had a great run at Middle Tennessee State before moving to Ole Miss three years ago.

The Rebels finished 16-12 in the Covid season but as always, don’t pay too much attention to the record. It’s just one of those things and there’s no way to know how things would have worked out in a normal season.

Brakefield will surely get a lot of playing time there but steps into a tough conference. Kentucky is always Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Arkansas are all surging in historical terms, Florida, Mississippi State and Georgia are well coached and there just aren’t too many easy wins in the SEC now.

As we saw at Duke though, he’s a tough kid who can step up when he’s called. We’re sure he’ll do well there.
