Former Blue Devil Zion Williamson was no surprise as a member of the All-Star team - he’s had an historic year. But it took a trip to the barber to make him a starter.
Philly’s Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, both All-Star teammates, made an innocent trip to the barber shop before the game and were tagged in contact tracing so won’t be able to play in Sunday’s game.
That opened a slot for Williamson and given that the All-Star game historically is an excuse not to play defense, you can reasonably except him to have some fun Sunday evening.
Williamson says here he was surprised to be named an All-Star but on JJ Redick’s podcast, when pressed, he was a little more honest, saying he had it as a goal.
It’s deserved though so we’ll be excited to see how he does.
