Jordan Goldwire Enters The Transfer Portal

And he’s really going to be missed by Duke fans

A bit of sad news Saturday as David Thompson of the Fayetteville Observer reports that Jordan Goldwire has decided to finish up somewhere else.

He has the NCAA bonus year and is going to wrap up at another school.

Originally expected to attend Western Kentucky, Goldwire came to Duke as sort of point guard insurance and became so much more than that. He really became a superb defensive player and vastly outperformed expectations. In particular, his role helping Duke to pull off a stunning upset at Louisville in his sophomore year will long be remembered. Like Jaemyn Brakefield, who opted to enter the transfer portal as well, he’ll leave with tons of respect and affection from the Duke fan base because Goldwire is a winner. It really is a shame he won't get a senior day.

There’s no word on where he might be heading yet but wherever he goes, that team will get a guy who gives his all. We’re going to miss him.
