Brakefield Hits Transfer Portal

That’s really too bad. Everyone liked Jaemyn.

We were really sorry to see this: Jaemyn Brakefield has decided to enter the transfer portal.

We loved his passion and will long remember his incredible reaction after scoring against Jay Huff this season to pretty much lock the game up for Duke.

He would have competed for playing time next season against AJ Griffith, Henry Coleman and Joey Baker, among others, and maybe he wasn’t too sure about that. Whatever the reason, we’ll miss him. He was a wonderful presence.

Coach K’s statement went a bit further than some of these type things tend to. Here’s what he said:“We support the decision made by Jaemyn and his family. He was a terrific representative of our program and we wish him all of the best as he continues his academic and athletic pursuits. Jaemyn has a bright future ahead of him and we will miss him.”

Although Brakefield could conceivably change his mind it doesn’t sound much like he will. Wherever he goes, we’ll certainly follow his career with interest and wish him the best.
