Walker Kessler Leaving UNC

A major transfer just hit the secondary market

A couple of things we’ve talked about this season just collided. #1) UNC’s ridiculous front court and #2) the insane level of player movement that’s about to take place.

We don’t know what everyone else will decide at UNC but one of its quartet of big men will be leaving.

Walker Kessler, who is talented but caught in a logjam with three guys ahead of him, announced Monday that he’s leaving Chapel Hill. There’s no indication of where he’s heading but he’s likely to pick a place where he can be the focus of the front court if not the entire offense.

His final picks were UNC, Duke and Auburn. Duke seems unlikely for any number of reasons although with things the way they are now, now who knows? We’re guessing Auburn would still be interested and as a native of Georgia, you’d expect Georgia Tech and Georgia, where he has family ties, would also inquire.

It’s hard to say just yet but he's going to be a premiere talent and will have tons of choices.
