Coach K On Duke’s Season, And The Season’s End

Pretty much puts it all in perspective really

As it turns out, even if Duke had won the ACC Tournament, it probably wouldn’t have been able to go: there have been several more cases of Covid on the team.

So that’s that and we can all let go of the idea now once and for all.

On his SiriusXM radio show Basketball and Beyond, Coach K talked about how he was proud of his team and how hard they worked, not to mention how close they came to be really good despite all the difficulties:

“My heart goes out to my team. I’ve had those times. They haven’t. They haven’t. This is two years. Last year, the guys who were on the team, we were 25-6 and would have been a top 4 seed at least and didn’t get a chance to play and now don’t get a chance to play again. I feel bad for them.”

He also talked about how he felt simultaneously “a little bit empty” but also excited for March, which probably nails it for a lot of Duke fans although not Zion Williamson.
