Covid, of course

According to ESPN, the Virginia Cavaliers have now had to follow Duke out of the ACC Tournament due to Covid. This means that Georgia Tech, at a minimum, is in the ACC Finals.

They’ll face either UNC or Florida State, assuming that game goes off as currently planned.

The good news, such as it is, is the good news from Duke: the players on these teams are young and in superb physical condition and have minimal risk of serious illness. And as for the coaching staffs and other personnel, while they’re older and certainly not as physically fit, they are getting tested constantly and have access to superb health care. So everyone involved should be safe or at least as safe as humanly possible.

We have no doubt that the ACC is taking all possible precautions, but we’d be very curious to know if Virginia and Duke used the same locker room and if so, who else has used it.
