Former Blue Devil JJ Redick spoke to new teammate Steven Adams about their New Orleans teammate Zion Williamson, like Redick also a former Blue Devil.
Adams talks about how he enjoyed playing against him and trying to solve the puzzle of Williamson. Both guys talk about how Williamson can elevate and figure things out in the air, which no one else can do and Adams says that with a newly improved three, Williamson could “wreck” the NBA.
Redick also says that while Williamson doesn’t always move fast, that he has a burst mode and when he hits it, no one can keep up.
So here are some highlights from Sunday’s New Orleans vs. Detroit Pistons game where you can see some of what they’re talking about as Williamson goes around, behind and over various defenders to rack up 26 points, eight boards, three assists and two blocks.
Also in this clip is former Blue Devil Mason Plumlee, a reasonably athletic big man who, like most of his contemporaries, cannot begin to contain Williamson who burns him a couple of times here.
