As the NBA season picks up steam, former Blue Devil Zion Williamson has been playing well and improving, certainly over last year when he was slowed by injuries and the way the season stopped and started and finally a family crisis.

This year so far things have gone really well and he’s been able to show the many different aspects of his game.

As we saw at Duke, he can be incredibly efficient. Take his most recent outing, against the Chicago Bulls. He shot 12-18 and hit 5-6 from the line, where his improvement verges on dramatic. He scored 29 points in 37 minutes which is pretty damn good.

And so far, he’s been able to do it by going almost exclusively to his strengths, which, as teammate JJ Redick pointed out, is very hard to do and particularly so for a young player. It just underscores his dominance. Later he’ll have to learn some other stuff but for now? Wow.
