Duke and Kentucky play collide on November 9th, for possibly the final time in Mike Krzyzewski’s career. He has coached against almost every UK coach since Eddie Sutton in 1989.
The most famous game of course was the 1992 East Regional Finals where Christian Laettner RIPPED THE STILL BEATING HEART out of Kentucky Basketball (and stomped on it).
Interestingly, while Krzyzewski has coached against Sutton, Rick Pitino, Tubby Smith and John Calipari, missing only Billy Gillispie’s brief, chaotic reign.
Interestingly, after losing to Kentucky in the 1978 national championship game, Duke has gone 8-2 against the Wildcats and in the process become possibly even more hated by the BBN than Louisville.
As we get ready for this year’s matchup, it seems like this is a good time to look at the Kentucky exhibition win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Calipari was not happy without UK played but what coach ever is? They won’t be easy and as usual they’ll be fired up to play Duke. So let’s all watch video and discuss. You can head over to the boards to post your thoughts. Wildcats fans, you guys are welcome too!
