A Great New Basketball Show May Have Arrived

It sounds highly promising

We haven’t seen it yet but NBA great and Olympic hero Kevin Durant is involved in a new series on Apple TV+ called Swagger, which is based on his life. We think he’s also a producer but can’t confirm that.

Whatever his role, the story is semi autobiographical, paralleling everything Durant had to to do rise to greatness in the NBA.

Scout Tafoya is a solid critic we’ve been aware of for years and he gives this show massive raves.

It’s a series not a movie but either way you look at it, here are the best we’ve seen in no particular order:

  • Hoosiers
  • Blue Chips
  • White Men Can’t Jump
  • Hoop Dreams
  • He Got Game
  • Inside Moves

We want to put a special plug in for Inside Moves. It’s a bit dated now but it’s a movie with some real heart and soul and multiple redemptions, along with some real human sadness. It’s also quite funny and sweet.
