Duke’s young point guard should be vastly improved this season

The latest Duke profile from the Chronicle is of point guard Jeremy Roach.

Last year he was inconsistent especially from the three point line, but we expect him to be vastly improved this season for several reasons.

  1. Last year Duke, in general, was way behind because of Covid and he didn’t get the early work a freshman usually gets.
  2. He was still working to get over the knee injury he suffered in high school
  3. We’re sure he wants to improve and has put in the work

All of these things are going to work to push him to get better and, as the Chronicle points out, the overall quality of his teammates has improved, which will make his job a lot easier.

As far as his three point shooting goes, that should be improved too. At the end of last season, he was already showing signs of improvement and we expect that to continue this year too.
