Today?

It’s Mark Williams, who has now been put on the watchlist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award.

The award, of course, is named for the former UCLA and Bucks/Lakers great who is on anyone’s shortlist for a quick Top Five all-time NBA players and, arguably, the greatest player to ever take the court in college basketball.

That’s a shortlist. Bill Russell is on it, maybe Pete Maravich and Christian Laettner. Jerry West? Oscar Robertson?

It’s a smaller list.

The only other ACC player on the list is UNC’s Armando Bacot although former Tar Heel Walker Kessler, now at Auburn, made it.

Here’s the entire list.
