With Kyle Filipowski, Dariq Whitehead, Jared Schutt and Derek Lively, Duke’s Jon Scheyer has put together what current Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski might call “a heck of a class” for his first time out.
He may not be done.
Mark Mitchell is still considering Duke, along with Kansas, UCLA and Missouri. Here are some of his thoughts about where things stand currently:
“Duke wants to build a super class for Coach (Jon) Scheyer’s first year, Kansas is close to home, Mizzou is a different type of program than all of them, UCLA is a really good program and my brother lives out there, so it’s a lot of different perspectives that make it harder,” Mitchell told All Bruins. “Then I’ve got recruits in my class from all four schools that are recruiting me! Gradey (Dick) is my roommate, so I hear a lot from him on Kansas. I’d say it’s at about an eight stress level.”
Fans don’t usually think about that aspect of recruiting. We understandably get caught up in the excitement of new talent but it can’t be easy for young players.
You can look for his decision in December.
