One of the main topics of conversation at ACC Tipoff was the retirement of Roy Williams and the impending retirement of Mike Krzyzewski.

The ACC Digital Network put together some reactions from various ACC coaches including NC State’s Kevin Keatts, Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim, Notre Dame’s Mike Brey, Virginia’s Tony Bennett, Virginia Tech’s Mike Young, Florida State’s Leonard Hamilton and Miami’s Jim Larranaga.

For his part, Boeheim said Krzyzewski was the best coach in the post-Wooden era. Bennett said that Williams and Coach K were the reasons he came to the ACC because as a young coach (then, he qualified), he wanted to test himself against the best. Brey talked about how Coach K hired him at Duke when he was a high school assistant. Can you imagine telling that to your significant other? “You’ll never believe what happened today...”

Brey also talked about how Williams helped to mentor him and became a good friend.

The others all had interesting comments too so watch the whole thing. You’ll be glad you did.
