Great news for Duke basketball: Coach K is out of quarantine and will coach Saturday against Wake Forest.
Duke’s legendary coach was directed into quarantine after a family member turned up in contact tracing. Krzyzewski never had the virus himself and so didn’t test positive.
This is nothing like 1995 obviously, when Coach K had to sit out most of the season for health reasons, but for those who remember the following year, it took about five minutes for him to get T’d up.
And it wasn’t like he was baiting the refs. He was just reinforcing the idea that Duke Basketball has standards.
So while we don’t expect that level of anger today, we do expect to see a very intense Mike Krzyzewski who is, after all, still forming his team into what it ultimately will be.
