Marvin Bagley Update

After Marvin Bagley III’s father, Marvin Jr., expressed his feelings on Twitter that the Kings should trade the former Duke star, reactions have been pretty interesting.

The father of Bagley’s Sacramento teammate, De’Aaron Fox, tweeted right back for Sacto to trade him.

And for his part, Fox said this: “I don’t think anybody’s out there playing basketball worried about two tweets, and if you are, this ain’t what you should be doing because [expletives] are going to tweet you every day of your life while you’re playing in this league, so if that’s what you’re worried about then I don’t know what to tell you.”

“Me, Marvin and [head coach] Luke [Walton] talked for like five seconds because it wasn’t a big deal. You’re playing basketball. If you’re thinking about anything that somebody said on Twitter then this ain’t for you. I would 100% completely honest with you tell you that nobody’s thinking about that while we’re on the court.”

For his part, Walton downplayed the situation, saying that “If it becomes a team issue then we’ll discuss it as a team, but I don’t see it as that...If anything ever starts to impact the game, then I’ll look at it as a team issue that needs to be talked about and addressed, but right now we don’t have any of those.”

So maybe all is fine and dandy in Sacramento, which would be a big change from the last couple of decades, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about a trade, which we link to below, along with several other links about the situation.
