The New Orleans Pelicans and the Toronto Raptors squared off Saturday evening with the Pelicans winning 120-116.
Former Blue Devils Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson had solid games. Ingram had 31 points, six rebounds, four assists and a block while Williamson had 21 points, seven boards, one assist and one block.
Brandon Ingram iced the game with two foul shots - the Pelicans got to the line 47 times - but Williamson probably had the play of the game with this spectacular spin move.
The two former Duke stars combined for 52 of the Pelican’s 120 points. Fellow former Blue Devil JJ Redick came off of the bench for another five.
Williamson and Ingram didn’t get very much time together last season. The year was messed up first by the pandemic and the pause and secondarily by Williamson’s surgeries and injuries.
They seem to be working very well together now and having Lonzo Ball, Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe around them looks to be working out fairly well so far as well.
