All three will leave as grad transfers

As so often happens after a coaching change, Duke women’s basketball will say goodbye to three players: Sara Anastasieska, Jayda Adams and Mikayla Boykin will all enter the transfer portal.

Players saw themselves fitting in one way and find that the new coach has a different philosophy or ideas about how to use the players she inherited and adjusts accordingly.

Wherever they end up, all three will be classified as grad student transfers. In the case of Anastasieska, she’ll have a rare distinction: she’s going to play for four different D-1 schools. She started at University of Texas-San Antonio, transferred to Cal, then to Duke as a grad student transfer and she gets one more year wherever she goes. As an Australian, she’s getting a pretty great tour of the US via basketball.

All three of them get an extra year in college and a chance to have new experiences, and what could be better than that? Best of luck to them with their new teams.
