This so-called college basketball season is not working. On Friday, Duke announced coach Mike Krzyzewski had been put in quarantine because he had been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19. Duke would go to Tallahassee for Saturday’s game without him.
Then later Friday, the game was called off after FSU announced Covid issues of its own.
There’s no word yet on just what the situation at FSU is and due to confidentiality laws, we may never know.
Concurrently, and probably or at least hopefully unrelated, we also learned Friday that the new strain of Covid that’s much more contagious has arrived in Florida with the first documented case in Martin County, about five hours from Tallahassee and about two from Miami.
So far we do know that the new strain of the virus is more contagious but we haven’t heard anything yet about whether it’s more deadly.
