Just to put this whole thing in perspective, Montrezl Harrell is 6-7 and 240 lbs and he’s strong. Even by NBA standards he’s extremely strong.
And Markieff Morris is 6-8 and 245 and he’s also quite strong - maybe not as strong as Harrell but at 31, he is fully mature and powerful in his own right.
So it’s kind of freakish to watch what Williamson does to these two powerful players in Friday night’s New Orleans-Lakers game.
First Williamson went up against Harrell near the basket and accidentally hit him in the face. It was a glancing blow but Williamson is immensely powerful.
Then he ran into Morris, also under the basket. Williamson pushed his elbow into Morris’s gut. From a normal player it wouldn’t have been a big deal. From Williamson though, it sent Morris to his knees.
Given the strength and power we’ve seen from Williamson, you really have to wonder what he would have done in football. You also have to hope no one is foolish enough to challenge him to a fight.
