Bonus YouTube Gold: Tacko Fall’s Game Has Really Expanded

The big guy had some big plays against the Magic.

Normally when we link to some Boston Celtics highlights we do so to highlight something impressive former Duke Blue Devil Jayson Tatum has done.

Well not this time. For one, Boston had to postpone three games due to Covid-19 protocols. But Tatum, Robert Williams and Carsen Edwards are still not cleared to play so Boston took on Orlando without their star forward.

Not that it mattered.

Boston rolled to a 124-97 win over the Magic and since Tatum couldn’t play, he’s obviously not our focus here.

Nope: it’s Tacko Fall.

Duke fans will remember Fall from the NCAA tournament game when Johnny Dawkins and Central Florida gave Duke a huge scare. Dawkins’ son Aubrey, who grew up around the Duke program, saw a last-second layup roll off the rim.

Throughout that game, Fall was impossible to get around.

As a Celtic, he’s continued to improve and of course he’s still 7-6, but he’s always seemed limited. He’s not all that fast and basically his job, like it was at UCF, is to gum up the inside. And just like at UCF, his teammates adore him because Fall is by all accounts a wonderful guy and an outstanding teammate.

In this game though, Fall had two surprising plays.

On one, he banked in a three pointer and on the other he drove past Khem Birch to dunk a layup, all to the delight of his teammates.
