In-N-Out: Zion Williamson Exits Protocol After One Day, Will Play Friday

Pretty great news for New Orleans

Former Blue Devil Zion Williamson had one of the briefest stays in the Covid-19 protocol we’ve seen: after going in on Wednesday he was cleared on Thursday and will play Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Turns out the original test was inconclusive; a follow-up apparently cleared him.

You have to imagine that Williamson wasn't too thrilled about sitting out a game against LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the defending NBA champions. And you have to think that the franchise would like to stick it to Davis after he forced a trade to get out of New Orleans.

The Pels will probably be without Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe (actually it looks like Ball has been ruled out).

However, New Orleans will have Williamson, Brandon Ingram who may have an axe to bring with LA, JJ Redick and rookie guard Kira Lewis, who has a chance to mark a mark in a very big game.

Williamson vs. James is going to be the media angle though, and that matchup should be fun to watch indeed.
