Cam Reddish had an uneven time of it at Duke but he had two moment of epic, shutdown swagger: the huge and very deep three point shot he hit at Louisville - off of RJ Barrett’s between-the-legs blind backwards pass - and the tremendous game winner at Florida State.
To recap, Zion Williamson had been poked in the eye and was on the bench as a medical precaution.
Florida State was up 78-77. Tre Jones got the inbounds and for whatever reason, FSU’s entire defense collapsed as Reddish ran to the right side of the key from the left side of the court, no one followed a most dangerous shooter. Reddish, remember, tended to get better as the games got tighter.
You couldn't have asked for a better setup for heroics. No one came out to get him and he got the shot off uncontested. If fell through the net as softly as a feather on a breeze. When it fell through, his teammates of course rushed him. It was a great, great shot that Duke fans won’t soon forget.
