We’ve all - and by we we mean Duke fans because UNC fans probably aren’t nearly as interested - seen last year’s insane win over UNC in the Dean Dome tons of times. We’ve made it a You Tube Gold at least twice and maybe three times.
Well, are you tired of it? We’re not. We could watch it every day.
However, this is a different way of watching it: some UNC students (we assume) taped themselves watching the last 1:50 of overtime.
It’s fun to see Wendell Moore slip the shiv in after Tre Jones’ miraculous play to put the game in overtime but what’s really clear from this video, aside from the agony of the UNC fans, is just how crucial he was in overtime. He got a layup, pressured the ball on the inbounds, tipped Jones’s last foul shot back out then ran back in to tip the ball in at the buzzer.
What it reminded us of was the brilliance of Brian Zoubek in the last minute of the 2010 championship game vs. Butler, one guy stepping up and doing so many little things, being so involved and so on top of everything.
Jones was the star and Moore obviously made the winning play but he did so much more than that.
Now enjoy the gnashing of teeth. It’s so very sweet.
