It’s always fun to see a kid take off and to watch him get lots more attention from basketball recruiters.
It’s been happening to Isaac Traudt, a sweet-shooting 6-9/200 lb. forward from Grand Island, Nebraska.
He’s getting lots of attention from Duke, Virginia, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin and we’re sure Nebraska and Creighton are pitching him to stay home.
He’s still pretty thin but when he bulks up a bit, he’ll be able to take care of himself on the court without too much trouble.
Offensively he’s ahead of schedule.
Incidentally, if you’re curious about Grand Island, it’s off the Platte River and obviously in Tornado Alley and they’ve had their issues there: on June 3rd in 1980, seven tornadoes hit, including one F4, and caused so much damage that when they cleaned all the junk up, they put some of it in a park and covered it with dirt.
The result? Tornado Hill. And as it happens, Tornado Hill guarantees the relatively flat area a first-class sledding hill in the winter.
It could also be a great place for a young athlete to train.
