Battle 4 Atlantis Will Move To The High Plains This Year

This should be a fun trip

Among the many college basketball events to be affected by the Pandemic is the Battle4Atlantis.

Well, according to multiple sources, it’ll be taking a break from the islands and moving to....

...South Dakota?

Yep.

This year’s field will likely compete at the Sanford Pentagon and will include Duke, Creighton, Memphis, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Utah, West Virginia and Wichita State.

What jumps out first? Aside from the golden prairies? Well, maybe snowy prairies (we’re just having fun for anyone who is harrumphing about the actual geography of Sioux Falls. It looks lovely but we’ve never been there).

After that though?

The chance that Duke could have a game against former Blue Devil Alex O’Connell, now with the Creighton Blue Jays.

The rest of the field is promising too. There’s not a weakly coached team among them.

You should also know that the Pentagon seats a tidy 3,250 so don’t get your hopes up about a seat with social distancing, although in a gym that size, there can’t be too many bad seats.

By the way, Utah’s Larry Krystkowiak is also known as Coach K so we might also get a battle between K’s, which would probably cause some migraines in ACC Country.

Anyway, keep an eye on it. For those readers who live in the area, and who might be allowed to attend, it’s going to be a fun chance to a) see Duke basketball in person and b) carve your name in the tradition a bit.
