Two Duke football players, both academic seniors, have decided not to play a football season amidst a pandemic.

Ben Wyatt and Jacob Rimmer have very different standings on the team. Wyatt is an experienced and good long snapper while Rimmer hasn’t played all that much.

Fortunately for Duke Wyatt’s backup, John Taylor, is ready to step up. Coach David Cutcliffe says that “[h]e knows our entire operation in punts. He can direct traffic out there. He is talented. We are very, very fortunate. I think Ben, in fact, knew that, that he wasn’t just walking away and leaving us high and dry.”
