Remember when people doubted Luka Doncic’s athleticism and Atlanta traded him for Trae Young on draft night?
Former Blue Devil Danny Ferry was forced out as Atlanta’s GM after a controversy and a power struggle between owners, but we have to think that he wouldn’t have made that trade because his game was actually somewhat similar to Doncic’s, although on a lesser level because Doncic is a prodigy who increasingly looks like the second coming of Larry Bird.
So far in the restarted season, in three games, Doncic has had two triple doubles and missed another by two rebounds.
Tuesday night against Sacramento, he had 34 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists.
He’s averaging 34 points, 11 assists and 13.6 rebounds.
It’s hard to undersell how spectacular this is and we’ll have to see if he can maintain it but as of right now, he’s doing things that only a handful of players, in any era, have been able to do.
