Harry Giles Has A Career Night

Great outing for the Winston-Salem native

Sacramento Kings v Orlando Magic

The King are stinking it up in bubble play so far, but injuries have given former Duke star Harry Giles a chance to shine and he’s making the most of it.

The former Duke player, who has had knee injuries since high school, only played 20 minutes but in those 20 had 23 points, shot 9-11 and had eight rebounds. That’s solid in anyone’s book.

After the game, he expressed empathy for Orlando’s Jonathan Isaac, who has had injury issues this season before the break. The former Florida State forward blew out his left ACL and will be out for the rest of this most bizarre season.

“Prayers to him,” Giles said after the game. “He’s a strong guy, strong in his faith, so I know he’ll be all right, but it’s so unfortunate, especially somebody so young, not being where you want to be, getting to your dreams and then getting hurt and coming up short. I know all about it, so my prayers are with him.”
