Brandon Ingram’s NBA career has been a bit uneven up until this season but even so, no one has been blind to his potential.
Current Pelicans exec David Griffith raved about him before he came to the Pelicans in a blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis, comparing his length to Inspector Gadget.
On one play last season, LeBron James kept jumping up with glee as the long-armed Ingram repeatedly blocked another team from inbounding the ball. We think it was four straight times but that might be wrong. Whatever it was, it was amazing.
He has been a bit up-and-down though and last year, he got a career-threatening diagnosis: Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT).
Basically it’s a blood clot that’s very difficult to get to because it’s in a deep vein. Worse, you might not even know you have it.
This is what ended Chris Bosh’s career and we’re sure Ingram has had anxieties about that.
However, he just completed a sensational season which may have made the Lakers wonder about trading him. The guy has become a real beast this season.
