You Tube Gold: Ten Of The Best Duke-UNC Finishes Of All Time

Well that Duke won anyway.

Here’s a rundown of Duke’s Top Ten finishes against UNC. We should probably qualify that a bit to say that it’s ten OF the top finishes. For one, the triple overtime game in 1968 is missing but since it was in 1968, there’s probably not much video anyway. And the Robbie West game is not here either but what can you do? It was the Stone Age media wise too.

So let’s call it close enough.

These were all fun games and some were incredible. The Chris Duhon game was wonderful and, so was the Gone In 54 Seconds win over Maryland. But we’re not sure anyone will ever top the Austin Rivers game which is pegged at #1 here and rightly so. That was such a gorgeous, eloquent statement.

The best part of it was that the Daily Tar Heel had planned a video to honor the rivalry and there was a scene at the end in a Franklin Street bar that showed the incomprehension followed by a slow understanding: Rivers had just gutted Carolina like a fish.

Someone wisely (and tersely) yelled out “kill the camera.”

Why not? Rivers had just killed the Heels.

Enjoy.
