YouTube Gold: Luka’s Greatest Moment

As he puts up one of the great clutch plays in recent NBA history

Los Angeles Clippers v Dallas Mavericks - Game Four
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA - AUGUST 23: Luka Doncic #77 of the Dallas Mavericks hits a game winning three point basket against Reggie Jackson #1 of the LA Clippers during overtime in Game Four of the Western Conference First Round during the 2020 NBA Playoffs at AdventHealth Arena at ESPN Wide World Of Sports Complex on August 23, 2020 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

It’s hard to believe that Luka Doncic has only been in the NBA two seasons and that this is his first playoffs.

That’s even harder to believe after the shot he hit Sunday evening in overtime against the LA Clippers.

We won’t talk about it much here because video speaks better and there’s a good chance you saw it already anyway.

The real question here, which only time can answer, is where does this stand historically? In the NBA playoffs, there are some legendary clutch plays. Look up “Havlicek stole the ball!” if you don’t know off it. Look up Larry Bird’s steal against the Pistons. There is also Jordan’s “The Shot” against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Magic Johnson’s hook shot against Boston.

Our immediate instinct is that the casual yet ruthless arrogance that Doncic shows here, along with his likely development path, will see this clutch play become legend.
