Sabrina Ionescu set college basketball on fire for four seasons and recently debuted in the WNBA.
Her first game was fairly pedestrian but her second was so good that Stephen Curry tweeted out a one-word response: Sheesh!
Her line: 6-10 on threes, 11-20 overall, 5-5 from the line, seven rebounds seven assists and just one personal foul.
It was a powerful performance for anyone but remember she’s a rookie so that makes it much more so. Also check out her assists, some of which are quite powerful long passes.
Will we get more?
Well, eventually surely but maybe not just yet: after scoring 10 points in 12 minutes against the Atlanta Dream, Ionescu injured her ankle and it’s not yet known how severe the injury is.
She’ll be back though so stay tuned.
Incidentally, assuming she plays, the US women’s team should be just about unbeatable in the next Olympics, whenever that may be.
