Not so much for Vernon Carey

Here’s an updated mock draft from CBS’s Kyle Boone.

He has Cassius Stanley going at #22 to Brooklyn and Tre Jones going to Utah at #24. Vernon Carey is not listed as a first-round pick.

Also of interest: Boone has UNC’s Cole Anthony going to Portland at #13. He also has Florida State’s Devin Vassell going at #12 to Sacramento and teammate Patrick Williams going to Boston at #26. Syracuse’s Elijah Hughes is pegged for Toronto at #27. That’s quite a jump from ECU where he started out.

Also of note: the top three in most mock drafts seems to have solidified: Here it’s James Wiseman, Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball.

A first round surprise: Israeli forward Deni Avdija is in the lottery at #7.

We always like to keep track of how San Antonio and Boston draft because they usually make really smart picks.

For now, Boone has San Antonio taking Frenchman Theo Maledon at #

Boston gets Memphis’ Precious Achiuwa at #17, Williams at #26 and San Diego State’s Malachi Flynn at #30.

Whatever happens with the draft order, Boston will as usual be pick rich. It wouldn’t surprise us any if they bundled them in a trade. It wouldn’t surprise us either if the Celtics took Carey with a late pick if he is still available.
